When we hear of poverty, we rarely hear of the impact on the person, the individual. We hear statistics and we nod, tell oursleves that it is tragic, then move on. But when we stop to look at individual impacts on individual people, the story becomes personal, and it is harder to look away.

The Impact of Poverty on the Individual

The Respect Factor will examine several of the social issues of the day in Canada, with the first series being a discussion of the impact of poverty at the individual level, rather than at the macro-level. Future podcasts will look at First Nations, mental health, rural/urban divide, religion, the power of the individual, the environment, simple living and other topics.
