Jenny lives in the Nambucca Valley on the Mid North Coast of NSW. In November 2019, bushfires engulfed the area threatening many homes and businesses and devastating the local wildlife. "As far as we knew it was all under control and then on the 9th of November it just flared up and just took off. Emergency warnings came through&nbsp;and I looked out to the north and couldn't see anything and then I looked out the South and thought oh my god, it was like a volcanic eruption". Losing a daughter

Daniel Lloyd was&nbsp;an average&nbsp;farmer and father till the early hours of Saturday August&nbsp;12&nbsp;2017. This is when Daniel received the call that his daughter Sarah had been killed in a motor vehicle accident. Sarah was only 19 at the time. Together with wife Tracy, they have dedicated their lives to carry on the legacy of their middle child.&nbsp;Through their hardship they&nbsp;started the&nbsp;Sarah Lloyd scholarship which gives grants to New South Wales women practicing in non-traditional trades. Sarah was an apprentice mechanic at the time of&nbsp;her passing.&nbsp;Producer Hayley&nbsp;spoke to&nbsp;Daniel&nbsp;about the Sarah Lloyd scholarship and how they turned their devastation into a platform helping women all over the state. The Springs has operated for over 150 years as a sheep shearing station and cattle stud, throughout its history they've had their fair share of ups and downs and more recently the struggle of drought. Many properties face difficulties both financially and through workload, during these tough times but it's ultimately the banding together of a community that helps rural farmers make it through.
