The Reggies

An official statement was released from Jace on behalf of The Reggies Podcast in relation to a certain RRLC post. Not sure what we had for lunch but everyone was on edge and wound up like a jack in a box! To get us going we discuss to the rumours of a potential rule change to the NRL kick off, followed up with non-interested rugby league players, followed up with the Australian cricket team, and finally into the men's netball dance squad. On a much more positive note, the chopperroos won another world title, Australian rugby had its best day in the sun for god knows how long, and Lizelle Lee (what a cricketing name) made 150* for the Hobart Hurricanes in a WBBL game. How good is racing! Derby Day was a mixture of emotions, Melbourne Cup Day was a bloodbath, Oaks day was mehh, and now we are ready to launch into the final day of the Flemington carnival....Champions Day! The Group 1 Champions Mile looks to be the best race all year on paper, let's hope it lives up to it. The laptop was back from the repair shop so we got a good look at how it's shaping up with only 5 or so weeks to go in the season. The Betr dart of the week lands on a very good hope, the greyhound had all the juju but did it perform? Also has anyone seen Button? Had to edit his bets into the show as we dunno where he is! Hope everyone had a good Melbourne Cup Day, as you will hear we recorded this episode on Monday for a couple of different reasons. Didn't stop us from covering all things cricket, the Aussies were mid ODI against Pakistan and didn't things get tight late! Who will open the batting in the first test? Plenty of hands in the air but not many runs being scored. Aus v Tonga in the final of the pacific championship after an amazing game of footy in Auckland against the kiwis. We talk Benny hunt, very late chat on the Allan Langer saga and a Quick look the series in England. An incredible performance from Max Verstappen at the Brazilian Grand Prix. From 17th on the starting grid has he all but sealed the drivers championship? What about Gout Gout! How good is he going. Gets himself a well-deserved win in one of our segments after breaking all sorts of records on the track over 200m. The race that stops the nation is here once again, the first Tuesday of November is a date that gets pencilled into the diary each and every year. We have given our extremely uneducated opinion on how we think the race will go, plus give our best bets, each way bets and of course the famous boxed trifecta's! Derby Day aka Christmas Day is upon us once again! The best day of racing all year, nothing but quality from races 1-9 at Flemington and sprinkle some golden eagle in Sydney and we have ourselves a smorgasbord. Barbs is well and truly up and about after last week's demolition, but he gets reminded of a little error he made when discussing the cox plate winner Via Sistina's chances last week. We must swing in the Old Boys segment, it's getting very desperate after Rocket gained another 40 odd units for the Old Boys last week. A genuine CHANCE to win the race was struck on the dart board for this week's BETR dart of the week. Another big episode this week covering no less than 5 sports. Bit of chit chat from the RRLC over the week, covering a few topics of discussion including whether the footage of barbs was him being kicked out of the hammo last weekend. We cover the AUS v NZ game and the Samoan v England game, second game of the 2-test series coming up this weekend which Tom is furious about. India and England, our two biggest rivals in the cricketing world have both had shockers this past week and we are absolutely all over them! 5-0 coming up this summer against India or what? Double spinning back fist, crushed teeth/jaw and a first-time knockout was just some of the action from UFC308. We talk Fury and Usyk as well Sammy Goodman getting his shot at the junior featherweight titles against Naoya Inoue in Tokyo. If nothing else that will be an absolute spectacle for Sammy to be a part of. Squeeze of the week wasn't as straight forward as it seemed, however there was an easy pick for captain, and we give a certain someone a well-deserved pat. 

Was that the greatest punt show of all time? Holy shit we had a good time, the greyhound gets up in an epic, Jaces dart throwing for dart of the week was an absolute catastrophe, B1 and B2 have put their balls to the wall and backed their own stables! Not to mention it’s Cox Plate weekend, we were that fired up after the show we almost went straight to the pub! The Rugby League and AFL off seasons are in full swing Reggies! We discuss the Ezra Mam situation, the GWS Giants Wacky Wednesday situation and give an honest light-hearted opinion of both. The pacific championships have begun for both the men and women with a big win for the jillaroos, a scrappy win the kangas and how good was seeing PNG win. They love footy! The AFL should change the trade period to 12 hours because that’s when all the deals get done, the draft order is set (for now) until 47 picks get shuffled around during early November. Timmy Tszyu suffered a devastating loss on Sunday and hasn’t the social media world turned on him. Not us! We will stick by Timmy forever. The UFC this Sunday should be a cracker with both the co-main and main events looking like mouth-watering fights. The boys are in a different scenery this episode as the studio is powerless, but we get the job done in the AB studio. Thank god it’s Friday and what a weekend of racing we have ahead.
