George Mumford: How to Master the Mamba Mentality NOW

Season 4, Ep. 11

How did Kobe Bryant truly dive into the clutch moments of a game through mamba mentality? How did Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls focus as winners like Zen masters?

Well, there was a secret weapon behind it all - George Mumford. George is a psychologist and mindfulness coach who has worked closely alongside Phil Jackson's Chicago Bulls, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan and other Olympic athletes to help them focus, and meditate as athletes. He also was Kobe Bryant's mindfulness coach.

He's been the mindfulness coach for Stanley Cup-winning hockey teams and NBA champions throughout his career! Mumford is the author of books like, 'The Mindful Athlete.'

In our conversation today, George talks about his amazing Kobe stories, close experiences and what he learned from champions like Michael Jordan and his time living as Julius Erving's college roommate. George also talks about what it takes to be a clutch, focused and ever-present athlete. He teaches us how we can be in the NOW and remain calm and composed in our daily lives. In essence, what it takes to garner mamba mentality in our daily hurdles.

Listen to George's journey, fun stories with athletes and of course his life philosophy for us all to meditate on TOGETHER. Join us in this conversation to seek and learn.
