ODB FM: The Best

Season 2, Ep. 2

Testing, testing... hello out there... this is the Old Dirty Brasstards calling across the airwaves!

That's right, it's the return of ODB FM, just sixteen months after our last episode. Why has it taken so long, you ask? Some, but not all, answers to this will become clear in the episode. 2022 was an incredibly busy year for the band, and we are so excited for 2023, and there are going to be lots more podcast episodes for you to enjoy. We've recorded two more episodes to be released very soon too, so make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss anything.

First up is this one, all about our single The Best, which came out earlier in 2022, and this chat was recorded in May. Chris Smith, Seb Philpott, Richard Evans (who arranged it) and Cai Isfryn (who produced it) chat about our take on the Tina Turner hit, and go off on many, many tangents.

  • 3. ODB FM: Girls & Boys

    53:58
What's that... two episodes in two days? That's right, the Old Dirty Brasstards are back with more, and this time they're discussing their 2021 cover of Blur's 1994 hit "Girls & Boys".Chris Smith, Seb Philpott, and Barney Philpott (who arranged it and produced the track) have a chat about the song, whilst accidentally digging up some deep-rooted memories and perhaps some unexplored trauma. It sounds quite hard-going, doesn't it? But it's pretty light-hearted to be honest, though we should probably warn you about some graphic imagery in the first five minutes. If you're squeamish about teeth injuries, maybe skip to about 7 minutes in.Thanks for listening and stay tuned for the next episode, all about Pulp's 1995 smash "Disco 2000".Supported by Arts Council England.Listen to Old Dirty Brasstards on Spotify, Bandcamp or Youtube.Go to www.olddirtybrasstards.co.uk to learn more about the band and find out when we are next playing live.
