As well as his time at Burnley and Norwich, he talks about how he first joined United during that early Alex Ferguson era, before the gaffer had won a single trophy at United. Mike shares his memories of that famous 1990 FA Cup victory and tells the audience how things really clicked into place after that, putting in place the foundations for domination in the years that followed.Maysie and Mike were also able to take some questions from the audience. Marouane Fellaini, who was Manchester United’s first major signing of the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, sat down with Helen Evans and Sam Homewood to discuss his journey with the Reds between 2013 and 2019. Sam, Helen and Maysie are back at Carrington to speak to Emma Watson. The Scot joined United from Rangers in the summer of 2023 at the young age of 17 but unfortunately suffered an ACL injury while on international duty, shortly after signing. She opens up about how she is coping with this difficult stage in her career and what her future ambitions are, and believe us, she has big ambitions! Emma’s career is still in its infancy, but that hasn’t stopped her tasting success. She’s a Scotland international, she’s scored in the Champions League, she won the 2021/22 Scottish Women's Premier League title and if that wasn’t enough, she was named PFA Scotland Women's Young Player of the Year. As we commemorate the 66th anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster, we have delved into the archives to present a special episode of the Manchester United podcast.In 1998, 40 years after the tragedy, journalist and author Tom Tyrrell spent time with Jackie Blanchflower, Bill Foulkes and Albert Scanlon, Busby Babes and survivors from that fateful day.They spoke about the wonderful and ground-breaking team they played in, the events of February 6th, 1958, the aftermath and how it made them feel to watch the United team of 1998 - on the edge of glory themselves.Narrated by the legendary football writer Paddy Barclay, this is of course an incredibly emotional account of the darkest day in our club’s history, and the accounts of Jackie, Bill and Albert are presented as they were told in order to educate listeners.Producer: Wayne BartonEditor: Nick ThomsonExecutive Producer: Scott Martin

To kick off 2024 Sam, Helen & Maysie catch up with former Red and Northern Ireland international Pat McGibbon. Pat has an important story to tell, particularly at a time of year when a lot of people struggle with their mental health.Not long after joining United as a teenager, Pat learnt the tragic news of his brother Phillip taking his own life, which is something Pat hasn't spoken about until recently. He has begun to speak publicly about mental health issues, with the aim of increasing mental health awareness, reducing the stigma and promoting health and well-being through sport. Pat tells us about this heart-breaking time for his family and also how Manchester United offered him much needed structure in his life, helping him to focus on his football career again. It wasn't until after retirement when Pat started to really struggle with his own mental health. We're pleased to say that Pat has turned things around and is now a mental health and wellbeing coach/mentor. In Phillip's honour, Pat founded the charity TRAIN 2 B SMART (TTBS) Juniors, who aim to promote positive mental health and well-being through sport. TTBS have affiliated boys and girls teams at a range of age groups.
