Hometown Heroes Honored in North Jersey

Congressman Josh Gottheimer honored twenty North Jersey residents as hometown heroes for their outstanding contributions as first responders, veterans, volunteers, and community leaders. The event, held at the Barrymore Film Center in Fort Lee, celebrated individuals like EMT Brianna Wargelin, who assisted in an at-home delivery, and ninety-nine-year-old World War Two veteran August Caccavone. Other honorees included Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann, fire chief George Drimones, Boy Scout leader Andrew Baron, and teenagers Valerie Kimel and Aiden DAngelo. The annual event aims to acknowledge and honor those who consistently work to help others in North Jersey.
