This edition features new releases from Melbourne duo Grace Jean, Perth singer/songwriter Catherine Traicos, Van Morrison, Leonard Cohen, Cage The Elephant, Neil Young, Melbourne singer/songwriter Marcelle and selections from Creedence Clearwater Revival's previously unreleased performance at Woodstock in 1969.

After reading ANTHONY DeCURTIS' compelling biography 'LOU REED A LIFE' published in 2017, I was inspired to include the second of my interviews with REED during which he talked about his current album 'NEW YORK', his friendships with DION DiMUCCI and former band mate from THE VELVET UNDERGROUND, drummer MAUREEN TUCKER.

With the 50th anniversary of the legendary Woodstock Music Festival, staged on the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th of August 1969 fast approaching, I'd like to share with you an interview I conducted a few years back with Michael Lang a music concert promotor, producer, artist manager and co-creator of the original Woodstock Festival who recently announced the staging of the 50th anniversary concert.I met Michael when he visited Australia with Joe Cocker who he was managing at the time. In our interview he talked about the staging of the original Woodstock festival during which you'll hear some musical highlights and the role he played in rejuvenating Joe Cocker's career.

In addition there's new music from Melbourne bands The Teskey Brothers and Wht Sqr, the debut release from Reese Wynans, former keyboard player in Stevie Ray Vaughan's Double Trouble, The Midnight, currently on tour in Australia and a tribute to the late Scott Walker.

In this special edition of THE MUSIC SHOW I'd like to share with you my 1988 interview with LEONARD COHEN, who talks about his new release ' I'M YOUR MAN' and his bizarre collaboration with producer PHIL SPECTOR eleven years earlier.

In 1992 I recorded this interview with Native American poet, songwriter, musician JOHN TRUDELL who spoke to me of his journey from political activist to recording artist. His story touched me deeply.

In this edition of THE MUSIC SHOW I'd like to share with you an interview I conducted in 1981 with American singer/songwriter Rodriguez.Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1942, Rodriguez recorded two albums in the early 1970's, "Cold Fact" and "Coming From Reality", neither of them finding an audience in the US. But they did become extremely popular here in Australia, and Rodriguez toured here in 1979 and 1981, appearing at the Tanelorn Festival in NSW alongside Midnight Oil, Split Enz and Men at Work. He virtually disappeared after that, until 2012 when his story was told in the Academy Award-winning documentary "Searching for Sugar Man".

The latest edition of BILLY PINNELL: THE MUSIC SHOW consists of an interview I conducted on December 23rd 1984 with LOU REED on the eve of his second Australian tour that would kickoff on January 11th the following year.The legendary performer /songwriter was celebrating the critical and commercial acceptance of his most recent releases,'The Blue Mask', 'Legendary Hearts' and 'New Sensations' three of the most upbeat and accessible albums of his entire discography in which he celebrates his recent marriage and the domestic bliss he's subsequently embracing, his love of motor cycles and R&B and soul music.
