Drunk Driver Kills Pedestrian, Flees Scene

54-year-old Jeffrey Redecker of Watertown faces severe charges in a fatal hit-and-run incident. Prosecutors allege he was drunk driving when he struck and killed a 35-year-old pedestrian on December 21st. The victim was found near Second and Main streets after being dragged by Redeckers red pickup truck. Witnesses, including the victims designated driver, saw the truck hit the man, who was wearing a bright yellow jacket. Redecker admitted to driving and drinking that night, with a blood alcohol level of 0.121 hours after the crash. He has a prior drunk driving conviction and is held on a $500,000 bond.
