The Middle-aged Bodcast

Battersea, Bumblebee & Blisters Incoming

With our 12-mile charity walk now just days away, we're back for a bonus Bodcast full of nostalgia, chaos and middle-aged adventure.

Rich shares the story of his trip to Battersea Power Station from the incredible lift experience and fascinating history tour to finally stepping inside the Transformers store he'd been dreaming about visiting. There's talk of Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen and somehow an ongoing battle to actually find a bottle of Coca-Cola.

We also chat about our preparations for the upcoming charity walk in aid of Andy's Man Club, reveal plans for a future 40th anniversary special on The Transformers: The Movie, and look ahead to the return of the Bodcast for Season 7.

  • 5. "Act Now, Age Better" with Age UK

    22:26||Season 7, Ep. 5
    The Middle-aged Bodcast is proud to support Age UK's "Act Now, Age Better" campaign.Age UK’s research found that nearly half of mid-lifers used to dread school PE lessons, with millions still feeling traumatised by PE or put off exercise and sport for life. So in this episode, we're looking back at our own less-than-glorious memories of rugby, football and cricket among other sports and ask how people in midlife can find a way back into movement without any pressure, judgement or embarrassment.We also talk about some of the sports we actually liked, including Rich's surprisingly positive memories of tennis and hokey, and why finding an activity that suits you might be the key to moving more.It's not about channeling Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray or Roger Federer. Sometimes, just hitting the ball over the net is a good place to start.Find out more about Age UK's "Act Now, Age Better" campaign: https://www.ageuk.org.uk/get-involved/act-now/📱 Follow The Middle-aged Bodcast Online!📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/midagedbodcast📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/middleagedbodcast🐦 Twitter/X: https://x.com/MidagedBodcast🔵 Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/middleagedbodcast.bsky.social🌐 Website: https://middleagedbodcast.co.ukIf you've enjoyed listening, we'd love it if you could follow the podcast, leave us a review and drop us a comment.
