  • 4. Smooth As Silk

    23:27||Season 1, Ep. 4
    Quite often I get asked what I get out of running a business, hosting events and producing this podcast.  The question of money always comes up, “How do you make money? How much do you make?” Well let’s just say that I learned many years ago that money really isn’t important. It’s nice but not my priority in life.  If it was, I would be looking for a real job.  What I do get out of this job is meeting people, building relationships, but most importantly educating the community and giving a voice to people of our region that do cool things, not for themselves but for other people they probably will never meet.Clem Fechner is one of those people that needs to have his story told.  I have known of Clem since I was maybe ten or twelve years old, and have regularly seen him around our region as I have grown older over the years, (I was going to say grown up, but we all know that hasn’t happened yet).  It was just a chance meeting, when I was guest speaker at PROBUS a number of weeks ago that I found out just how important Clem’s work, in retired life, is for people all over the country.

Whether it's visual, musical, theatrical or the written word, the arts and cultural sector has a huge part to play in our lives and economy. You may not believe it, but most industries, including the sciences are increasingly looking for staff involved in some type of arts industry. This is Cultural Resource Mapping.This is the link for the full project and survey:https://www.oliviaeveritt.com/cultural-resource-mapping?fbclid=IwAR2a2Mp7nbQSJPBoXhNS_yi3KcEPaHWzC90gzyeRbZijdh-NERvGVKG3XXk
