Long Run PAC Spends Heavily on Admin, Critics Cry Foul

Long Run PAC, established by Mandela Barnes after his 2022 Senate loss, spent significantly more on administrative costs than average, with 38.1% of itemized expenses going to travel, rent, and staff. Despite this, it only contributed 14.1% of its funds to other candidates. Barnes team argues that the PAC raised and contributed over $445,000 when counting solicitations on behalf of others. However, Republicans criticize the PAC as an uncontrolled bloated machine. The PAC, which launched with $565,700 in leftover Senate cash, has since raked in more receipts than any tied to sitting Wisconsin feds. Early 2025 donations include contributions to a Supreme Court hopeful, a Superintendent, and a Virginia AG candidate. Barnes insists all will be disclosed properly as he ramps up his statewide bid.
