Man Pleads Guilty to Shooting, Avoids Homicide Charge

Madison Man, Mycah Riggins, Pleads Guilty to Reduced Charge in Shooting Incident
In a recent turn of events, Mycah Riggins, a Madison resident, has accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to a modified charge of first-degree reckless injury instead of the initial attempted first-degree intentional homicide charge. This decision came after a shooting incident at the Madison Campground in DeForest on October 20, 2024, where Riggins allegedly shot another man during an argument over a woman. The victim sustained injuries and Riggins fled the scene, but was later apprehended. The felony firearm charge against Riggins was also dismissed. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for February 9, 2026, to determine the consequences of his guilty plea.
