Turkish Police Arrested 4,467 Fugitives Across 81 Provinces Over Last 5 Days
In a sweeping nationwide operation, Turkish police have arrested 4,467 fugitives across all 81 provinces over the past five days. This extensive crackdown, which began on July 9, targets individuals wanted for various crimes, including theft, drug trafficking, and assault.
Authorities reported that the operation was part of a larger effort to enhance public safety and maintain order in urban areas. Police forces conducted coordinated raids in major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, employing intelligence-driven strategies to locate and apprehend the fugitives.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya praised the operation, emphasizing the government’s commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of citizens. "This operation demonstrates our determination to bring fugitives to justice and uphold the rule of law in our country," he stated during a press conference.
The arrests are part of an ongoing initiative by the Turkish government to address rising concerns over crime and public security. Authorities have vowed to continue their efforts in tracking down criminals and preventing further illegal activities.
As the investigation progresses, police have urged the public to report any suspicious activity and assist in maintaining safety within their communities.
