In a bold statement on Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned that Israel might extend its military actions to target Turkey following ongoing tensions in Palestine and Lebanon. Erdogan's comments came amid heightened violence in the region, where Israeli airstrikes and cross-border skirmishes with Lebanese Hezbollah forces have intensified.

Speaking at a press conference in Ankara, Erdogan expressed concern that Turkey could be dragged into the broader conflict if Israel continues its military operations. “After Palestine and Lebanon, we must prepare for the possibility that Israel may look at Turkey as a target,” Erdogan said. He emphasized that Turkey stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people and will not remain silent in the face of aggression.

This warning follows a series of diplomatic disagreements between Israel and Turkey, particularly over the treatment of Palestinians. Erdogan has long positioned himself as a vocal supporter of Palestine, often criticizing Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Erdogan's comments were also seen as a call for greater regional unity, particularly among Muslim-majority nations, to counter Israeli actions. “We are ready to defend ourselves and stand with our brothers in Palestine and Lebanon. Any threat to Turkey will be met with a firm response,” he added.

Israel has not yet officially responded to Erdogan's warning, but analysts believe that this rhetoric could further strain relations between the two countries, which have had a turbulent history of diplomatic ups and downs in recent years.
