Scientists find 'strongest evidence yet' of life on distant planet
Season 1, Ep. 7993
•
Scientists have reported the strongest evidence yet suggesting that K2-18b, a distant exoplanet, could be home to life. Observations from the James Webb Space Telescope have detected potential biosignatures, specifically molecules like dimethyl sulfide (DMS) and dimethyl disulfide (DMDS) in its atmosphere. These molecules are produced by life on Earth, particularly marine phytoplankton.
