Russian Military Begins 'Third Stage' of Nuclear Weapons Drills
The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced the commencement of the 'third phase' of its comprehensive nuclear weapons drills, underscoring Moscow's ongoing focus on enhancing its nuclear deterrence capabilities. This phase follows the previous two stages, which involved extensive tests of Russia’s strategic nuclear forces.
According to the defense ministry, the current phase will include simulated nuclear strikes, coordination exercises among different branches of the military, and live-fire drills with nuclear-capable missiles. The drills are set to take place across multiple locations within Russia and involve a range of strategic assets, including intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs).
