Supporters of both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris squared off on the city streets outside the site of Tuesday night's vice presidential debate.

Tim Walz and JD Vance are set to face off inside the CBS Broadcast Center on West 57th Street at 9 p.m. The debate will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ and simulcast on www.usatoday.com.

Outside the building, supporters of each campaign held signs, waved flags and tossed verbal barbs at each other amid a heavy police presence.

Supporters of both candidates, protesters and concerned individuals outside the event spoke with NorthJersey.com.

RPM Underground hosted a watch event for the Vice Presidential debate. People sat and stood next to each other as Vance and Walz discussed the issues.

One Jersey City and one Washington Heights resident, democrat supporters, were at the watch event and said they were pleased by Walz’s performance. “If there was one sound bite to take away from the debate, it was the Walz comment when he said Jan. 6 was not Facebook ads.”

They both wished the moderators were more aggressive in making the candidates answer the questions in full but overall they both said they were pleased with how the debate took place.
