Kanye West has explained the motivation behind his new song Heil Hitler, linking the controversial release to ongoing personal frustrations over custody of his children and frozen financial assets.

In a social media post shared on May 8, 2025, the rapper said the track was fueled by anger. “These people took my kids from me and they froze my bank account,” West stated, adding, “I had so much anger inside me.”

The explanation followed the release of a music video for Heil Hitler, which West shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) account. The video features a group of shirtless men draped in animal skins, chanting in a scene interpreted by many viewers as glorifying Adolf Hitler. The imagery has drawn widespread backlash for its provocative symbolism and allusions to fascist ideology.
