Tensions in the Middle East flared again as the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched a massive airstrike against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, targeting 100 rocket launchers. The preemptive strikes came after an escalation of cross-border skirmishes between the IDF and Hezbollah militants, which resulted in the deaths of two Israeli soldiers.

Israeli military officials confirmed that the airstrikes were aimed at neutralizing rocket launch sites believed to be controlled by Hezbollah, a militant group backed by Iran. According to the IDF, the rocket launchers were strategically positioned to target northern Israel. The air raids were conducted with precision, using both fighter jets and drones to minimize collateral damage, the Israeli spokesperson added.

In retaliation, Hezbollah forces fired several rounds of rockets and mortar shells toward Israeli military outposts near the northern border. Amid the exchange of fire, Hezbollah successfully hit an Israeli military convoy, resulting in the death of two IDF soldiers and injuring several others. The incident has sparked a rapid military buildup on both sides of the border, raising fears of further escalation.
