Israel has confirmed carrying out two airstrikes in Syria, targeting military installations linked to Hezbollah. The strikes, which took place near the Syrian capital of Damascus and in the southern region of Quneitra, resulted in the death of a Hezbollah fighter, according to Israeli military officials.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said the strikes were in response to "recent hostile actions" from Hezbollah, which they accuse of operating within Syrian territory under the protection of the Assad regime. Israel has long viewed Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed Lebanese militia, as a direct threat to its national security due to the group’s growing presence along the Syrian-Israeli border.
