SpaceX is set to launch a special mission aimed at rescuing two astronauts stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) after a recent malfunction in their spacecraft. The rescue mission, scheduled for liftoff this week, involves deploying an unmanned Crew Dragon capsule to safely return the astronauts to Earth.
The astronauts, who have been aboard the ISS for over a month, were originally scheduled to return using a Soyuz capsule. However, an unexpected cooling system failure in the Soyuz spacecraft left them unable to re-enter the atmosphere safely, prompting NASA and Roscosmos to coordinate with SpaceX for an emergency alternative.
