Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has issued a strong condemnation of Israel amid rising tensions in the region. In a televised speech, Khamenei reaffirmed Iran’s stance against what he referred to as "Zionist occupation," criticizing Israel's policies towards Palestinians and warning of further escalations if Israeli aggression continues.

Khamenei called for unity among Muslim nations, urging them to stand against Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. He labeled the Israeli government as "an oppressive regime" and reiterated Iran’s long-standing support for the Palestinian cause. "The Zionist entity is a cancerous tumor that must be eradicated," Khamenei stated, using familiar rhetoric in line with previous speeches about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The statement comes at a time of heightened military and political tension in the Middle East, following reports of clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian groups in Gaza, as well as ongoing Israeli airstrikes in Syria, which Iran views as provocative acts. Khamenei also criticized countries in the region that have normalized ties with Israel, saying they have "betrayed the Palestinian struggle."

Iran, a staunch supporter of Hezbollah and other militant groups opposed to Israel, has often clashed with Israel through proxy forces in Lebanon and Syria. Khamenei’s words have raised concerns about the potential for an escalation in hostilities, especially given the recent uptick in Israeli airstrikes against Iranian-backed militias in the region.
