I mentioned during my 2023 Reading Rewind show that I wanted to talk more about books that I rated less than 5 stars and that I didn’t really like, so we’re starting 2024 off strong with just that. The Housemaid is a thriller about a young woman named Millie who gets hired to work as a housemaid for a wealthy family. Unfortunately, the woman of the house, Nina, seems set in making Millie’s job - and life - hard. Something a little bit different this week. Instead of doing a book review, I wanted to discuss a book-related controversy that happened earlier this year. At the centre of it all is former child actor/author Sarah Stusek, and her semi-autobiographical novel Three Rivers. The book is currently standing at a resounding 1.3 stars on GoodReads, and not just because it's a bad book. Tune in to hear all the juicy details!

This young adult mystery novel, released in 2019, is the first book in a trilogy and is easily one of (if not THE) best books I have read in 2023.
