Robert Thurman is a Buddhist author and professor of Indo-Tibetan studies at Columbia University.  He is also the co-founder and president of Tibet House US, a cultural center of the Dalai Lama created to preserve Tibetan teachings and culture as well as present them to the West. 

Best known for translations and explanations of Buddhist religious and philosophical material.
