  • 52. The Secret to Shame-Free Sex Ed with the Learn MOBO Team

    48:26||Ep. 52
    What's up ladies, welcome to class! This week we are learning about *actual* sex education with Jenna Scherma and Ashley Smith, founders of Learn MOBO, and I'm so excited.Jenna and Ashley saw major gaps in sex education, so they're doing something about it. Learn MOBO is a platform that transforms sex ed from awkward lectures into an engaging, interactive experience that meets educators, parents, and teens where they are.Their 100% neutral approach to sex ed shouldn't be so radical, but it *feels* that way because of how we've modernly stigmatized sex. It's all just information—information that allows us to make educated, rational, consensual decisions about our bodies and relationships with others. When we teach youth with neutrality instead of fear, stigma, shame, or even positivity, it allows them to form their own opinions based on fact, not feelings.Jenna and Ashley also put a huge emphasis on what sex education actually is. In other words, it's not just sex! Comprehensive, age-appropriate sex ed should start at a very young age, teaching kids about their anatomy, boundaries, and autonomy.Read more about Learn MOBO: https://www.learnmobo.com/ Follow Learn MOBO on Insta: https://www.instagram.com/learn_mobo/Follow Learn MOBO on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@learnmobo

    What’s up ladies, welcome to class! In this episode of The Health Class She Deserves, we’re diving into the science behind skin health, gut health, and hormone health, and how they’re all deeply connected, especially when it comes to the gut–skin connection.In a world where everyone is trying to sell us the next skincare “miracle” (at the low low price of $100 an ounce, of course), it’s important to recognize when acne, blemishes, rashes, and chronic skin issues are actually an inside problem. Because more often than not, they are. Glowing skin starts in the gut, and on this women’s health podcast, we have to talk about what’s happening beneath the surface.This week, we’re joined by Jacqui Meehan to unpack the ins and outs of gut health for skin, including what hormonal acne really is, how inflammation impacts skin health, and why topical skincare alone often isn’t enough. If you’ve ever wondered how to support clearer, healthier skin from the inside out, this episode is for you.Head over to Jacqui's Fullscript dispensary for high-quality supplements to support your gut health:https://us.fullscript.com/welcome/jacquimeehannutritionRead more about Jacqui's work on her website: https://www.jacquimeehannutrition.com/Schedule a free consult with Jacqui: https://www.jacquimeehannutrition.com/book-free-consultation

  • 44. Her Story: From PCOS to Tumor: 20 Years of Medical Gaslighting with Jenna Bostick

    54:01||Ep. 44
    What's up ladies, welcome to class! This week we have another episode of Her Story, where I sit down with women like you to share your stories of pain, chronic illness, medical gaslighting, mental health, and more.In this intimate and honest interview, we're speaking with Jenna Bostick. Jenna was misdiagnosed multiple times with PCOS before finally (20 years later) getting diagnosed with a rare tumor. After decades of dealing with fluctuating weight, migraines, greying hair, high blood pressure, and countless other symptoms, she ended up in the hospital for two months.In our conversation, it became clear to me that one of the most painful parts of her story is the "what ifs": What if doctors had listened to her when she was 18? What if they had run more tests? What if they had investigated further? What if women's health was taken seriously? What if we taught women to take up space and advocate for themselves?She opens up candidly about medical gaslighting, fertility, weight struggles, emotional growth, and learning to take charge of her healthcare.Jenna wants all women to take this from her story: Trust your gut. Push back against your doctors when you feel something is wrong. You can be kind while also standing up for yourself, and in doing so you may save your life. You know your body best, trust that.If you want to read the Regional One article you can do so here.Interested in sharing your story?
