For quite some time, we've hinted that the world Minnie exists in is different in more ways than just the existence of magic. This episode provides a wider context for the Joaniverse, answering questions like "Why doesn't everyone use magic all the time?" to "Wait, how did magic alter the trajectory of colonialism the world over?" Plus, we provide a little glimpse at what Chicago would look like and who our main characters are in First-Degree Magic. If you like history, worldbuilding, and timelines, this would be the episode for you!
