No Jail Time for Fatal Cycling Crash

A Fresno County judge sentenced Johnson Chang, accused in a fatal cycling crash, to 180 days in custody, but no jail time. Chang pleaded no contest to the charges and will serve 90 days on work release and another 90 days under home detention. The collision killed Adela Santana, a Fresno State professor and mother of five, on Watts Valley Road, a steep area with visibility issues. The judge determined Chang should face a misdemeanor conviction, leaving questions about road safety and accountability.
