He has recently worked with critically acclaimed Chinese director Zhang Yimou in the film "Snipers" before moving back to Los Angeles. Heppe is also an avid content creator on Douyin (Chinese branch of TikTok) amassing over 5 million followers and over one billion views. He is now active on Instagram, making short videos about Chinese and conducting interviews around Los Angeles. In our conversation, we discuss the difference between the American and Chinese film industries, the future of social media, and the effectiveness of propaganda.
