Season 1 of the official Fischer-Z Podcast will be called 'Now & Then'. John chose this name to celebrate both the 50th anniversary of the band forming in 1976 and to talk about the upcoming new album in September.Episode 7 of the Fischer-Z podcast features Protection from the Fischer-Z album Stream in 1995 and Angel of Gardinia from the album 13 Stories High in 1997. We hear about how John worked with a producer and the impact that had on the sound, what he thinks now about Stream looking back on that time as well as what was happening in the band. We also hear about the album 13 Stories High, how John looks on that really fondly and why he moved on for a time from the Fischer-Z name. This is the first of a series of bonus podcasts focusing on new music coming this year. Episode one focuses on the first single of 2026, 'Strings'. In this conversation John discusses the song itself, exciting upcoming remix, the music video and lots of unheard information about the upcoming tour and new album 'X-Ray Serenade' which will be released on the 4th September by Cherry Red Records. The next bonus episode will be the Summer single, then full album special in the Autumn.

We hear about album art, what the songs and Lyrics mean as well as other tracks on both those albums. We also hear about what was happening in the band at that time and John's life.
