The Empathy Machine Podcast w/J&J

That's right we got our first film aimed at kid audience with a A-list, before they were famous, film 1986 The Goonies! A real classic, with, a dare I say equally kid-at-heart, talented, Goonies never say die, burgeoning filmmaker, Ben! (He also could be your local mailman.)

We our first sing-song, bing-bong, dancy-dance movie, the wonderful La La Land, with our young, thoughtful, insightful, and insta-famous Brandon H, esquire! We laughed, we thought, we went deep!

We did folks! We are now in the double digits! And we kicking it off with an amazing cult classic, a movie, a story, a director, and actors near and dear to both J's collective hearts, 2004s Shaun of the Dead.

It's here! Episode number 9 folks, right before we hit the significant double-digit mile, and on this episode a recent acquaintance but still a great guy Kevin M. Talking about one of those movies that work regardless of where you are and what you are doing. Every night...every day it's the best!

In our sixth-ever episode, and we have an amazing industry/commercial editor of film and ads, Kyle G as our guest. And, boy did we decide to take on a heavy one, a movie many may consider a cinematic masterpiece, Amadeus (1984). An amazing triumph of a film with lots of accolades and awards, but such things do not matter to the loftier minds of geniuses such as ourselves. (OR at least I think it doesn't, I don't know I'm not actually a genius) We talk of things like what makes great art, masterpieces, and how a film that talks about the nature of geniuses and art becomes a masterpiece in itself. Take a listen and all shall be revealed! (Actually, that is not true, we don't know all of that, but listen anyway.)

A fourth-ever guest on the pod, a talented young aspiring filmmaker and film school student Harrison Z, his movie of choice, Frances Ha (2012)! Watch out for this guy cause he, like many people in this film, is going places.
