The Daily Soundcheck

The second soundcheck to recently surface from @Tweeprise on Twitter takes place at one of the most unique venues in Phish history. I bring back Dave Calarco,@mrminer to help us get a glimpse of what this crazy town was like. We talk venue, musical highlights, and then I play for you the 40 minute soundcheck which features Phish working on tracks from The Story of the Ghost album.

We go back in time yet again! @Tweeprise on Twitter recently put out 2 new soundchecks that had never been released! This is one of the crazier venues we've covered and rock some "Character Zero>Funky Bitch". The bonus track is an excellent Type 1 "David Bowie".

The last of my four part Japan series with Dave Calarco finishes with a beast. The second set opens with 45 minutes of boundary pushing Phish with "Runaway Jim->Theme->Dog Faced Boy". The soundcheck is one of the greats, with sick grooves based around Trey spitting hilarious improv comedy. This is also one of 6 shows ever to feature "Reba", "Slave To The Traffic Light", and "Harry Hood" all in the same show. Phish and Japan was something special.

So how do you follow up one of the most legendary Phish shows of all time? Well the next night you play only 14 songs TOTAL! Among those are all time versions of "Ghost" and "DWD" and a great "YEM". Dave Calarco aka Mr. Miner is back with me to try and break it all down. The soundcheck includes a rare version of "The Happy Whip and Dung" and a hilarious look behind what was going on with the Phish stage crew taking place in "Windora Bug".
