The Concord Youth Experience
Car Culture
With close to 2 million cars in Birmingham, the roads are becoming more and more dangerous for everyone who uses them. But we also live in a culture where people love their cars.
Zaheema hosts this podcast where Concord Youth chat to Tom McNeil, Assistant Police Commissioner about how we can try to tackle the issues that our car culture creates.
Looking at all sides and making suggestions for positive change, this podcast will get you thinking about what we should be campaigning for: free public transport? More speed cameras? Officially managed race tracks? New rules around car modification?
Concord Youth with Tom McNeil want to encourage more dialogue between the police, the police commission and local authorities on issues that affect the residents of Birmingham, and as mentioned in the podcast, any concerns about crime can be anonymously reported to Crime Stoppers as well as West Midlands Police.
