The Chipping Forecast
You're Better Than This
Season 1, Ep. 122
•
It's USPGA week and the greatest players in the game are gatheringfor the second men's major of the season. But while our trio do use this episode to look ahead to events at Quail Hollow, and also muse upon the ongoing good form of Sepp Straka and Shane Lowry, they are initially far more occupied discussing Eddie's course walk-off in Turkey. Andrew and Iain try to offer psychological support, despite dealing with their own golfing defeats (Iain) and humiliation (Andrew).

127. US OPEN REVIEW
01:03:57||Season 1, Ep. 127This episode has been a US Open-style challenge. And we have shot somewhere in the mid-70s, only hoping to make up some ground on the field in episodes to come. Iain is in Oakmont, Eddie drops in briefly from France (at which point Laurie Canter also gives us his thoughts on his first US Open) and Andrew joins from semi-consciousness at about 2 in the morning. Iain and Andrew give the full review of JJ Spaun's remarkable victory, Bob McIntrye's near miss and they all chat about Rory and what lies ahead for him this year.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukEmail:tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast126. The Clumsy, The Spineless and the Alibi-Artist.
01:14:18||Season 1, Ep. 126We'll let you decide which is which...The US Open is here and before Iain heads to Oakmont he joins Andrew and Eddie to pick over the bones of last weekend's golf, with Ryan Fox winning in Canada, Connor Syme getting his first DP World Tour win in The Netherlands and Graeme McDowell collecting comfortably the biggest prize cheque of his career. They also manage to wander through the formative history of Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania, chat about the worrying dip in form for Rory McIlroy and pick their favourites for the third men's major of the season. 01:16:38||Season 1, Ep. 125A clickbait title for you on another long episode, which we might stop apologising for - there’s no obligation to listen to all of it. In fact it’s simply a necessary length to cover Maja Stark’s debut major win at the US Women’s Open, while also asking if the consistency of excellence from Scottie Scheffler means that he might have a Tiger-like career. This and much more full-on golf chat is the meat in the middle of a rambling sandwich where we also touch upon Andrew’s TV quiz behaviour, Iain’s squirrel vaseline and Eddie’s inability to perform a basic bodily function.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukInsta: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk124. Eddie's 10kg Weight Gain
01:22:35||Season 1, Ep. 124In a disturbingly long episode, Eddie tells us about his new training and practise regime, while Iain and Andrew assess the performance of Ernie Els and Retief Goosen in the Oval Office. They also reflect on last week's tournaments and look ahead to the US Women's Open at Erin Hills before considering the British talent on show in the NCAAs. The pod then finishes in dramatic style as Iain tells a story about hitting a bunker shot.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk123. Scottie and Skye
01:02:51||Season 1, Ep. 123An episode reflecting on a third major title for Scottie Scheffler and one which was many hours in the making do to overwhelming technical incompetence. Andrew and Iain kick things off from either side of the Atlantic as they look at Scheffler's composure under pressure to win the US PGA, as well as remarking upon the contrast between the eloquence of Jon Rahm in describing his near-miss and the refusal of Rory McIlroy to speak to the media after his frustrating week. Eddie then joins and an hour later after after an hour of recording some podcast gold, they start again as our wandering Tour pro realises that he hasn't pressed record. At the second time of asking they explain why an illegal driver is not nearly as dramatic as the internet has suggested, wonder what has happened to Brooks Koepka, heap more praise on Mimi Rhodes and ask Eddie when we can expect to see him back on the golf course.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk121. Scottie Scheffler and The Black Death
01:04:37||Season 1, Ep. 121The TCF trio bring tales from their travels this week while Eddie also does some light photocopying in the business centre of a Turkish hotel. Top of the agenda are Iain and Eddie's trips to the the north of Scotland and Portugal respectively, with Eddie announcing his unique method of preparation for a return to the DP World Tour. Next on the agenda is Scottie Scheffler's record-equalling victory in Texas, while Andrew muses on the short but glorious career of Byron Nelson, tells us which great golfer can thank spark plugs for a lack of pressure and wonders how history might have been different but for some fleas on rats in the 14th century.www.petermillar.co.ukhttps://biggolfrace.prostatecanceruk.orgInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk120. Saigo and a Stag-do
01:07:41||Season 1, Ep. 120If one of our correspondents is correct in saying that we didn't break 80 with our last episode, then it is very possible we shoot in the low-90s with this one. Iain is absent and Andrew and Eddie drift, rudderless, across the golfing oceans although they do make attempts to discuss the dramatic finish to the first women's major of the season, a first win for Marco Penge and his impressive thighs on the DP World Tour and also wonder if playing good golf on your own is actually good golf at all.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukhttps://biggolfrace.prostatecanceruk.org/Instagram: @chippingforecastemail us: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk119. Reasons to be Cheerful
01:07:00||Season 1, Ep. 119After the excitement of the Masters, this week's Chipping Forecast deals with the excitement of jet-washing a patio and humane methods of dealing with ants. Beyond that the trio discuss Justin Thomas and Ashun Wu returning to the winner's circle, serving as inspiration for Eddie. And our resident tour player talks with some positivity about his own golf and looks forward to a game on Thursday where he will, for once, be the happiest person in his group.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukSign up: biggolfrace.prostatecanceruk.orgWatch a young(er) less jaded Andrew wander in to the Butler Cabin: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/golf/35990197Email us: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk
