The Break-Up Diet
Your Friend’s Being Cheated On… Would You TELL Her?
What would you do if you found out your best friend’s boyfriend was cheating on her… would you tell her? 👀
This week on The Break-Up Diet, I’m getting into all things cheating after watching the first episode of Channel 4’s new six-part series, Break Clause. I’ve ONLY watched episode one so far, but it already gave me a LOT to talk about. 😭
We meet Lil and Ben, whose relationship is thrown into chaos just as they move to London together — and suddenly they’re dealing with cheating, broken trust and the very awkward reality of living with your ex.
We’re talking about whether you should always tell a friend they’re being cheated on, whether you’d actually want to know if it was happening to you, whether being drunk EVER makes cheating a “mistake,” emotional vs physical cheating, and whether you can genuinely rebuild trust after betrayal.
Because honestly… if everyone knows your boyfriend is cheating except you, your friends keeping it from you feels like another betrayal. 😬 Pasted text
So I need to know: if you knew your friend was being cheated on, would YOU tell her?
⚠️ SPOILER WARNING: I’d watch episode one of Break Clause before listening because we’re getting INTO it.
Break Clause is available on Channel 4.

40. I Started a Breakup Podcast… Then Had My Heart Broken
24:47||Season 2, Ep. 40Two years ago, I started a podcast about breakups… before I’d ever actually had my heart properly broken. 😭Well, a LOT has happened since then. For the 2-year anniversary of The Break-Up Diet, I’m taking it back to where it all started — why I created the podcast, where the name actually came from, and how going through my own heartbreak completely changed the way I think about breakups, dating and all the advice I used to give so confidently. Pasted textI’m getting VERY honest about my own breakups and situationships, going back to an ex when I probably shouldn’t have, the things I’d NEVER do again, my current dating red flags (and yes, some of my own 🚩), and why giving your friends breakup advice is sooo much easier than actually taking it yourself. We also talk about rebuilding your confidence after heartbreak, learning to trust yourself again, knowing when you’re actually ready to date, and why sometimes you just have to let yourself completely crash out before you can finally move on. ❤️🩹If you’re going through a breakup, questioning your dating life, or just trying to figure yourself out as you go… this one feels like a proper girls’ catch-up.And to everyone who has listened, shared an episode, sent me a DM or been here at any point over the last two years — THANK YOU. 🤍Here’s to another year of breakups, glow-ups and figuring it all out together. 🥂
39. You’re Scared To Let Go... But Staying Costs You MORE. ft. Rebecca Dickinson
32:27||Season 2, Ep. 39Have you ever known deep down that a relationship isn’t making you happy… but the thought of actually letting go feels even scarier than staying? This week I’m joined by Rebecca Dickinson, founder of Becca’s Day, to talk heartbreak, attachment, knowing when it’s time to walk away, and rebuilding your life when the future you pictured with someone suddenly disappears. After a brutal breakup, Becca realised how many signs she’d explained away and how easy it is to stay because you’ve already invested YEARS into someone. But if you’ve already spent two years in the wrong relationship, staying another day doesn’t get those years back — it just costs you more.We talk about loving someone’s potential, ignoring what you know deep down, learning to be alone, therapy, dating again, protecting your peace and figuring out who YOU are outside of a relationship.Because sometimes you’re not scared of losing them… you’re scared of letting go of the life you thought you’d have.If you’re thinking “I know I need to let go, I just don’t know how” — this one’s for you. 🤍Follow Becca: @beccas_day_Check out Becca’s Day: beccasday.com
38. You Don’t Even Know If You Like Him... You’re Just HOOKED. ft. Rose Viggiano
39:27||Season 2, Ep. 38Have you ever been OBSESSED with whether a guy likes you... only to realise you're not even sure you actually like him? This week I'm joined by relationship and attachment specialist Rose Viggiano to talk about why we get so hooked on certain people, why we keep dating the same type over and over, and how our attachment patterns might have way more to do with it than we realise.Rose opens up about her own history of choosing emotionally unavailable partners — chasing people who couldn't commit while finding the safe, secure ones "boring." Eventually she saw the pattern and went all in on studying attachment, trauma, and what actually makes a relationship feel secure. We break down the attachment styles — anxious, avoidant, secure and fearful avoidant — and what they actually look like when you're dating. Because sometimes you think you're just really into someone, when actually you're checking your phone 100 times a day, analysing their replies, and panicking because they haven't texted back. 🫠And THIS is where it gets interesting.Rose explains why inconsistent attention is so addictive. They text you constantly... then disappear for three days. They get close... then pull away. Suddenly you're desperate to know where you stand, and the chase starts feeling impossible to walk away from. But if you actually stopped and asked yourself "do I even like this person?"... the answer might surprise you.We also cover the early dating red flags to watch for, why we make excuses for people who aren't giving us what we want, and what a secure relationship is actually supposed to feel like. And obviously... we talk breakups.Rose explains why an avoidant can be the one to end things and then come back weeks or months later, why your attachment style can look completely different after a breakup, and how rejection can make you question whether you were ever good enough in the first place. If you keep chasing emotionally unavailable people, checking your phone waiting for a text, or wondering "why does this ALWAYS happen to me?"... girls, you need this episode. 🤍Find out more about Rose:Website: www.roseviggiano.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/awakeningrelationships/
37. 9 Signs You Should Break Up With Your "NICE" Boyfriend
26:44||Season 2, Ep. 37Okay, controversial one today — because sometimes the nice guy just isn't your guy, and I'm not sorry for saying it. In this episode I'm going through nine signs it might genuinely be time to break up with your boyfriend, even the ones who've technically done nothing wrong. We're talking loving the potential instead of the actual person in front of you, having the same argument on a loop, feeling like his mum more than his girlfriend, being lonelier next to him than you'd ever be single, wanting completely different futures, and the sneaky ways you start shrinking yourself without even clocking it.I get really personal in this one — plane, crying, phoning my mum personal — because honestly, I've done every single thing on this list myself. This one's for the girls who are six years in, three months in, or just nosy for a mate. And stay till the end because there's a little quiz that'll tell you everything you need to know, so don't overthink your answers, just say the first thing that comes to your head.Because at the end of the day, it's never really about choosing this man or that man. It's about choosing yourself.
36. Sophie Bertrand: Stop Being So HARD On Yourself.
38:07||Season 2, Ep. 36Why are we always SO much harder on ourselves when we’re already struggling? 🥲This week I’m joined by Sophie Bertrand to talk about what actually happens when you stop showing up for yourself — and why the way you speak to yourself might matter more than you realise.Sophie opens up about going through one of the hardest periods of her life after having her first son, struggling with her mental health, and the huge difference she noticed when she started changing the way she spoke to herself. We talk about that horrible little voice in your head telling you “I can’t do this”, and what can happen when you start replacing it with “I CAN do this.”We also get into food and wellness because, honestly, there is SO much conflicting advice online. Eat this. Don’t eat that. Do this workout. Avoid that ingredient. Sophie explains why two people can eat and exercise in exactly the same way and still feel completely different — and why constantly trying to do everything “right” can make you stop listening to yourself. And obviously, we had to bring it back to heartbreak. ❤️🩹Because when you’re going through a breakup or just a really shiiiiit period of your life, taking care of yourself can be the first thing to disappear. Maybe you’re barely eating. Maybe you’re eating everything. Maybe you can’t be bothered to shower, get dressed or do any of the little things that normally make you feel like you.Sophie explains why sometimes, without even realising it, we start punishing ourselves when we’re already going through enough — and why showing up for yourself in the smallest ways can make such a difference. We also chat about Sophie’s journey creating Serene, her clean, non-toxic fragrance ritual designed to help you pause, breathe and return to yourself, which launches this October. Sophie takes us behind the scenes of actually building the brand — from coming up with the idea to developing the product, dealing with delays and learning that sometimes you have to stop obsessing over the entire plan and just take the next step.If you’ve been feeling a bit lost, overwhelmed, heartbroken, burnt out, or you’ve just realised you haven’t been taking very good care of yourself lately... this episode is your reminder to stop being so HARD on yourself. 🤍
35. You’re NOT Behind. Stop Trying To Have Your Life Figured Out.
24:36||Season 2, Ep. 35Does anyone else feel like they were supposed to have their life together by now... because SAME. 🙃I’m 26 and for some reason I genuinely thought that by this age I’d have everything a little more figured out. A steady career, maybe a boyfriend, a clear plan for what I actually want to do with my life... meanwhile I currently have about 500 different ideas and absolutely no idea which one I’m supposed to choose. 😂In this solo episode, we’re talking about that horrible feeling of being “behind” in your 20s. Watching people around you get engaged, have babies, move countries, buy houses, smash their careers and seemingly know exactly where their life is going... while you’re sitting there wondering if you’re even on the right path.I’m sharing all the things currently going around in my head — wanting to move to New York, grow the podcast, buy a property, do my Pilates instructor course, start a fashion brand... basically wanting to do EVERYTHING and then getting so overwhelmed by all the options that I end up questioning all of them.We also get into comparison, procrastination disguised as “research”, being scared of wasting time or money, caring way too much about what other people think, and why sometimes you just need to give the idea you can’t stop thinking about a go.Because maybe the problem isn’t that you don’t have your life figured out. Maybe you’re putting way too much pressure on yourself to know what the next 10 years are supposed to look like.So instead of asking yourself “What am I going to do with my life?” maybe there’s a much easier question:“What do I want to do next?”If you’re in your 20s, feeling behind, changing your mind every five minutes or watching everyone else’s lives and wondering what you’re doing with yours... this episode is for you. 🤍
