Three Holmes Under the Hammer for Premier League Opener - Brentford v Crystal Palace Preview Podcast

Ep. 1072

Premier League football is BACK. And Brentford kick off their season with a match against South London rivals Crystal Palace - a team that the Bees have never beaten in the lifetime of most Bees fans

In season opening celebratory style, the Beesotted crew of Billy TheBee Grant, Dave Laney Lane, Matt The Allard Allard, Ali Mullalley and Lewis Sherlock Holmes met at The Globe pub to reminisce over their summer and look forward to the season ahead

In fact this was a podcast with not ONE Holmes but THREE with the crew being joined by Brentford Womens Captain Mollie Holmes and also Crystal Palaces' very own Lee Holmes to give their views on various things

In the show this week:

Suzanne Rowan, wife or late Brentford technical director Rob Rowan - the spearhead of the Brentford B-team, talks to us about the Heart of West London partnership, a collaboration of charities and medical professionals who have come together to help save lives by highlighting and tackling heart problems

Whatever happened to Archie Gray? Deal was supposedly done. Leeds fans got upset. Then it seems their bosses got cold feet sending him across to West London

Rumours that Wolves are looking at Yoanne Wissa with a price of £25m being touted

Is Ivan Toney really going to Saudi Arabia for lots and lots of money?

We caught up with Millie Holmes and Regan Graver from Brentford Womens team on the eve of their first match against Leatherhead.

  • Frantic Match Ends All Square - Bournemouth 2 Brentford 2 Post Match Podcast

    14:51|
It finishes Bournemouth 2, Brentford 2 at the Vitality after a hugely hard-fought afternoon that, by the end, had pretty much everything.Brentford took the lead through Kevin Schade, only for Bournemouth to fight their way back into it, equalise and then go ahead early in the second half. But Schade wasn’t finished there. A wayward pass out from the Bournemouth goalkeeper fell straight to the Brentford forward, and he still had plenty to do — but he produced a brilliant finish to bring the Bees level once again. From there, it became frantic. The game opened up, chances came at both ends and, in the closing stages, it really could have gone either way. Bournemouth will probably look back with the greater sense of frustration, having created a host of excellent opportunities that, on another day, should have been enough to win the game. But Brentford had their moments too, and by the final whistle it was a breathless, end-to-end finish with both sides throwing everything forward.A point apiece, Brentford remain unbeaten, and Kevin Schade walks away with two very different goals and a rather large chunk of the afternoon’s headlines. We spoke to the Brentford fans straight after the final whistle to get their thoughts
