Off-Duty Deputy Killed in Austin Nightclub Shooting

Caldwell County Deputy Constable Aaron Armstrong tragically lost his life after being shot in a nightclub parking lot. Off-duty and working security, he was fatally wounded in an altercation. Two suspects were swiftly apprehended, with Thomas Vances facing capital murder charges and Ronaldo Ernesto Colindres-Simon charged with assault. Armstrong, a dedicated public servant, was remembered for his volunteer work teaching gun safety and his commitment to safety at his church. He served with the Caldwell County Constables Office Precinct three and previously with the Smithville Police Department. The law enforcement community mourns the loss of one of their own.
