Cú Chulainn - a brand new Opera
22:55|Elmarie Mawe was joined live in Studio by composer John O'Brien and librettist Éadaoin O'Donoghue, to talk about their brand new opera telling the tale of Cú Chulainn. We all heard the Red Branch Knights stories in Primary school, but there's far more to "the man, they myth, the legend" than we ever heard back then! John and Éadaoin have had 5-Star reviews for The Morrigan, which was their first opera in the Celtic mythology arena. Sung in English, audiences acclaimed it and fell in love with their approach. This one sounds follows on from The Morrigan, in a way, seems absolutely epic and they had a great chat about it on The Arts House.
