Elmarie went along to rehearsals for a big production of Friel's Dancing at Lughnasa with a superb cast, staged by Hunters Moon Theatre Group. The production opens in the Inkwell Theatre on October 17th for 4 nights!

WOW! This is going to be some double bill at Cork Opera House on October 16th! Elaine Kelly chatted to Elmarie Mawe about the upcoming performances of Irish National Opera's "Trade" and "Mary Motorhead".

Sometimes guests overlap with different interests and connnections and sometimes it's great to get like-minded people in to chat and share arts-related news. Gerry Kelly and Alan Carney came in to talk to Elmarie about the Cork Pops Orchestra's Concerts for Schools and Alan Carney came in to chat about the Carrigaline Singers and their upcoming concert with Phil Coulter. Two guys with so many music and arts projects between them, Gerry and Alan got on great!

What a superb week is ahead for lovers of Independent Cinema! From those Made In Cork to the enormous selection of international films from all over the world, there are some amazing screenings this week in The Ark Cinema in Cork City Centre. Mick Hannigan and Úna Feely joined Elmarie Mawe live in Studio to chat about it!

WHAT A NIGHT is ahead for Cork with the Cork Concert Orchestra as Neil Thomson returns from Brazil to conduct, in a programme which includes the fantastic music from Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind and more, in a lead-up to a phenomenal second half with The Planets by Holst, AND a special screening with permission by NASA into the bargain! Don't miss it! Over 100 musicians on stage. Wow. Neil Thomson and Adrian O Mahony from the Cork Concert Orchestra joined Elmarie Mawe in studio.

There was a huge gathering for the launch of Ricky Lynch's latest art exhibition in Counihan's this week. It's well worth calling in to, and it was launched by Cllr Kieran McCarthy. Elmarie spoke to him and to the artist himself, Ricky Lynch, as they stood outside for a breather during the evening.

Another fantastic season of talks from the Cork Decorative and Fine Arts Society is in store - and already up and running! As Conor Tallon found out when he spoke to Tom Spalding.
