Episode 5 - Art & Geotechnical Engineering
•
Welcome back to the Art & Podcast, a podcast that asks "What do you do?" and "Can that be called Art?".
In this episode we ask: can Geotechnical Engineering be called an art-form?
We spoke to Sophie a long time ago now - apologies for the delay! We took a rainy wander around Queen's Park and asked here all about the art of taming the very earth we stand upon. And then we made some jingles to go in between.
This will be the last episode for a while thanks to everyone who has donated their time, and to you for donating your ears!
Questions by Ronan Mc Mahon. Production by Roy Shearer
If you know someone, or if you are someone, who has a job that they don't think is artistic or creative, we'd love to hear from you and to talk to you. Please get in touch at artandpodcast@gmail.com

Episode 4 - Art & Psychiatry
48:27|Welcome back to the Art & Podcast, a podcast that asks "What do you do?" and "Can that be called Art?". In this episode we ask: can Psychiatry be called an art-form? We actually ask this for the second time: Ellie was our first ever podcast interviewee and as a result the victim of our own incompetence at the time, meaning that that conversation was lost to the beast of poor microphone choice. So we interviewed her again and delved further into whether she is in fact an artist-psychiatrist. Unbeknownst to any of us at the time, it would take us a further year to edit this podcast. I kid you not, Ellie has actually carried out a full pregnancy since this was recorded. Sorry folks! We're probably due another catch up with her now. Questions by Ronan Mc Mahon. 45:21|Welcome back to the Art & Podcast, a podcast that asks "What do you do?" and "Can that be called Art?". In this episode we ask: can Heating Engineering be called an art-form? You need a Heating Engineer more than you know. A Heating Engineer is what we all call: "The Gasman". Graham is a Heating Engineer and he drove us out to Quarrier's Village, just south of Glasgow, for a walk through the fields and a chat about what the Gasman and the Artist have in common, if anything. Apologies for the faint clicking at the start of this episode. The microphone wire was hitting off a zip of a jacket, but it stopped a few minutes in. Questions by Ronan Mc Mahon. 51:20|Welcome back to the Art & Podcast, a podcast that asks "What do you do?" and "Can that be called Art?". In this episode we ask: can Nannying be called an art-form? We met up with Giulia, who runs a nanny agency in Berlin, to find out. Ronan risks life and limb once again, being swallowed and spat out by a dragon in the quest for scientific rigour.
