that work...on accepting hater behavior as a compliment ♡

Season 1, Ep. 10

Hi, its meeeeeeee I am back for EPISODE NUMBER 10! Woo! This episode is NOT for the hateration, holleration, or the bitchassness.

Inspired by Kamala, Martha & Megan's experience of being hated on, underestimated, played with but yet still unstoppable, this week I share unusual interactions with people in my life who I LOVED who I later realized were either threatened or jealous of me (or just simply hated me) and FINALLY (after thousands of dollars of therapy) learning to take their behavior as a compliment. I share my ways of identifying these weirdos and how I stopped trying to win them over. Cuz, like, ewww?! As if!

And if YOU are doing THAT WORK and want me to read your journey of self awareness and growth on upcoming episodes, DM me at @ThatWorkBTW on Instagram or @TVNISIA on Instagram, Twitter and TikTok.

    24:10||Season 1, Ep. 20
    GIRL. GURL. GYAL. I almost quit.Not the job — the dream.In this season finale of That Work, I get real REAL.I open up about the work trauma I’ve carried for years — the gaslighting, the layoffs, the silence after being the “only one” in the room… and how it almost broke me.But instead of breaking, I built something.✨ BTW Studios — my imprint, my offering, my soft power movement.In this episode, I’m taking you behind the curtain.Why I created That Work.What I’ve survived in this industry.And how I’m reclaiming my voice — not just for me, but for every Black woman who’s ever felt invisible while being exceptional.I also read a listener letter from someone who feels like she’s unraveling in the job hunt — and whew… I felt that in my chest.If you’re questioning your worth, tired of proving yourself, or craving a safer way to succeed — this one’s for you.Because:💋 They tried to break us — but we BEEN the blueprint.💋 Your pause is not punishment.💋 And your power is not performative.If you’ve ever felt like you had to be everything to everyone just to be seen — this episode is your permission to stop surviving… and start building something that works for you.Let this be your takeaway:We’re not asking for safety anymore. We’re building our own.–––What’s Tea?Send your listener letters & questions about work, purpose, healing, or building your vision to @TunisiaBTW on IG or Threads. • 19. stop performing, start receiving

    28:49||Season 1, Ep. 19
    GIRL.There are real consequences to over-explaining, over-delivering, and tying your worth to how much you do — trust me, I’ve lived it.In this episode of That Work, I get personal. I open up about how I used my career to feel lovable, how I over-performed in relationships to feel safe, and why receiving — without guilt, grind, or performance — is now my softest and strongest strategy. I also read a timely listener letter from a woman who’s always been “the strong one” in her family. And whew… I know that role too well.We’re unpacking the emotional debt that comes from doing too much, for too many, for too long — and how to finally return to yourself.Because:💋 Doing the most doesn’t make you more worthy.💋 Performing won’t make them love you.💋 And you don’t have to prove your value to receive softness, peace, or care.If you’ve ever felt invisible after giving your all…If rest feels like rebellion…If being “the dependable one” is wearing you out — this episode is your reset.Let this be your takeaway:You don’t have to earn what you already deserve.–––What’s Tea?My DMs are open and I have gems to give!Send your questions about career, life, love, style — anything you’re putting That Work into — @TVNISIA on IG for my advice.🎧 Episode Chapters:00:00 Introduction: Overcoming Overperformance00:33 Welcome to That Work Podcast01:17 Personal Story: Career and Relationships04:06 Realizations and Lessons Learned04:44 Navigating Professional and Personal Boundaries09:17 The Importance of Meaningful Relationships11:46 Listener Letter: Breaking Free from Overextending13:55 Advice: Setting Boundaries and Prioritizing Self21:54 Empowerment and Affirmations22:16 Key Takeaways and Action Items26:29 Conclusion and Final Thoughts

  • 17. black girl, softness is the strategy

    28:58||Season 1, Ep. 17
    YALL: I had an epiphany. Softness is literally THE strategy for Black women. I am not talking about soft girl era aesthetics like pink, pilates + matcha (even though I been in my Black American Princess vibe since I first laid eyes on Lisa Turtle) but Softness As A Strategy. A Lifestyle. A Mindset. In this episode, I outline five mindset shifts to embrace softness and navigate challenges, particularly in workplace dynamics and addresse a listener's letter about reclaiming power in a difficult work environment because her co-workers were trying it, per usual. Get into it! What's Tea? My DM's are open and I have gems to give!
