Despite Wiggins promotion, Elko emphasized that the decision was made after a thorough search, with Wiggins being the only person offered the position. This move highlights Elkos confidence in Wiggins ability to lead the offense moving forward.
Wiggins brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having spent five successful seasons at Alabama, where he coached wide receivers and served as assistant head coach of offense for his final three seasons.
This offensive coordinator change follows another recent coaching adjustment for Texas A&M. Earlier this week, Lyle Hemphill was promoted to defensive coordinator after Jay Bateman accepted a similar position at Kentucky. Both Bateman and Klein will stay with the Aggies through their playoff run.
