Day 7 of Wimbledon and the quarterfinals are shaping up with Carlos Alcaraz defeating Andrey Rublev to extend his unbeaten run at Wimbledon to 18. He will face another tough test in Cam Norrie who won an epic in possibly the match of the championships against Nicolas Jarry in 5 sets on Court One. Needless to say home hope Cam will have to trade his favourite court one for Centre court to face the two time defending Champion in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon. Also making it through to the quarterfinals stage is Karen Khachanov and Taylor Fritz. Fritz playing just 10 games before Jordan Thompson was forced to retire through injury. Fritz will be hoping to go one better and make the Wimbledon semifinals after bowing out at this stage last year to Lorenzo Musetti. On the women’s side, it is still very possible that another American woman might pick up a grand slam title after Amanda Anisimova set up match against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova who dashed British hopes by defeating Sonay Kartal despite the line calling system going down and going against the more seasoned competitor. World Number 1, Aryna Sabalenka who took out her former doubles partner Elise Mertens in round 4 and will face veteran Laura Siegemund in the quarters. A blockbuster Friday for British tennis came to a close with Emma Raducanu producing one of her best performances since her US Open title run in 2021, pushing Aryna Sabalenka all the way in two tight sets under the Centre Court lights. Day 4 of Wimbledon 2025 delivered high drama, standout performances and a deflating day for the Brits. Jack Draper lost out to veteran Marin Cilic who rolled back the years and reminded us just why he is a Grand Slam champion and a former Wimbledon finalist. It leaves Jack Draper once again coming unstuck against a 10/10 opponent and not quite living up to the hype at Majors which the gang discuss. Novak Djokovic also showed no signs of slowing down as he defeated Britain’s Dan Evans convincingly, exacting revenge on that Monte Carlo reverse in 2021. Does he look the best he has done in his quest for Grand Slam 25? Quite possibly. World No. 1 Jannik Sinner also cruised past Aleksandar Vukic in straight sets. In the women’s draw, Iga Swiatek (and resident Wimbledon towel thief) staged a strong comeback against Caty McNally, and defending champion Barbora Krejcikova advanced after a tough battle with Caroline Dolehide. Elena Rybakina and rising star Mirra Andreeva also booked spots in the third round with Joel assessing the teen queen's chances on grass after she stated earlier in the year that the surface is her least favourite. Rain may have dampened the grounds at the All England Club early on Wednesday, but it did little to quell the drama as Wimbledon 2025’s Day 3 served up upsets, star performances, and homegrown triumphs. Centre Court was abuzz as Emma Raducanu delivered a commanding performance against 2023 champion Marketa Vondrousova. With aggressive baseline play and composure under pressure, Raducanu sealed a 6-3, 6-3 victory to book her spot in Round 3—reaffirming her form and igniting hopes of a bit of a run on home turf. Next up, the World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.Joining her in advancing was fellow Brit Cameron Norrie, who battled past 12th seed Frances Tiafoe in four sets, showcasing grit and shot-making under pressure.
