Netflix Originals: Beloved Shows at Risk of Disappearing in 2026
Netflix fans, brace yourselves! Over 100 shows licensed from Netflix Originals, known as Netflix Originals, may vanish from the platform by 2026. Whats on Netflix has compiled a list of at-risk movies and series. The exodus begins early, with animated series like The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power leaving in January and February, respectively. Later, Dreamworks How to Train Your Dragon franchise disappears in November.
Comedy fans will miss specials like Demetri Martin: Demetri Deconstructed, while movie lovers lose The Resistance Banker after March 11th. Even classics like Arrested Development are slated to go in March 2023, but fans hope for a similar deal extension.
These shifts highlight the dynamic nature of streaming libraries, as licensing expires and shows migrate to other platforms. Caliphate, for instance, left Netflix in September 2025 and found a new home on Amazon Prime. So, your favorites might just move next door.
