Consumer sentiment at "recessionary levels" - Westpac:

Aged Care Minister Anika Wells says the government has a “genuine duty to deliberate” a levy on taxpayers to help fund a better-aged care system.

Westpac will sack about 300 of its staff in its business and retail banks as part of an ongoing push to reduce its office headcount by 20%.
