  • 6. Bride of Chucky (Re-release)

    01:49:07||Season 4, Ep. 6
    For our premiere of Season 3 we celebrated love and Valentine's Day with a romantic film, The Notebook, and decided to counter that with a relationship centric film completely opposite. Bride of Chucky, sounds romantic at a glance unless you are familiar with the infamous Good Guy. When Bride of Chucky was released in 1998, the Child's Play film series hadn't had an installment in nearly 7 years and had grown tiresome for horror fans. Written by the creator of the series, Don Mancini and directed by Ronny Yu(Freddy Vs Jason), Bride of Chucky sees the legendary return of Brad Dourif as our murderous Chucky, Jennifer Tilly as his future bride Tiffany and a supporting cast of, the late John Ritter, Katherine Heigl and Nick Stabile. Not only was the film a new twist for the 80's horror series, it would become an iconic film in its own right and launch Tilly as Scream Queen and introduce us to endless meme worthy moments. Bride of Chucky proved to also be a box office success for the series and has remained a favorite among its releases over the years. • 5. Death Becomes Her (Re-release)

    01:50:39||Season 4, Ep. 5
    For our next deep dive, we selected a black comedy classic that has been slotted a few times but pushed aside until now. Death Becomes Her, an Academy Award winning fantasy that broke new ground with state of the art visuals, helmed by Robert Zemeckis(Back to The Future Trilogy, Forrest Gump). Zemeckis had already made a name for himself for theatre goers, and helped launch the career of a 1980s Michael J Fox into unprecedented heights, and with Death Becomes Her, Zemeckis knew he had to raise the bar with CGI that had never been seen before. One key part of the films great success was its incredibly talented A-list stars, including 2 Oscar Winning leading women. Meryl Streep(Kramer Vs Kramer, Sophie's Choice, The Devil Wears Prada, Mama Mia, this list could go for a long time lol) stars as narcissistic and fading actress Madeline Ashton. Goldie Hawn(Cactus Flower, Shampoo, Overboard, The First Wives Club) plays the long time frenemy Helen Sharp an obsessed and traumatized woman who seeks revenge against Madeline. Bruce Willis(Die Hard, Moonlighting, Fifth Element, The Sixth Sense) is Ernest Menville, who at the beginning is Helen's fiancé until he is instantly infatuated at first sight of Madeline, leaving Helen thus causing her to spiral out of control. As years pass and Madeline finds herself at a certain age in a young industry, she seeks a way to defy the laws of nature. Madeline along with Helen find themselves coming face to face with their differences, while also learning the commonalties shared between the two. The comedy was a big success in 1992, and was quite a departure for its leads but has proved over the years to be regarded as one of Zemeckis' best films.A 21st District Media ProductionTalk to the Hand is created and Hosted by TimmyExecutive Produced By- Zachary Friederich and TimmyWriters and Producers are Randy Stewart and Nic StewartFind us on our social pageshttps://www.facebook.com/groups/652870355218612https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093215897780The21stDistrictStudios@gmail.com
  • 4. Scream

    01:31:56||Season 4, Ep. 4
    Halloween is upon us! It is officially October and here at Talk to the Hand we love a good horror film and it was a no brainer to cover this instant classic slasher. Scream was released in 1996, Directed by Wes Craven with a screenplay by Kevin Williamson. The two of them came together to create one of the 90s most influential horror films, which also helped revitalize the genre. Craven helped assemble a cast that would bring the story and characters alive, with some well known faces and fresh young talent alike. Neve Campbell as the protagonist, Sydney Prescott a young teen traumatized by the murder of her mom just a year prior to the films events. Also starring Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Rose McGowan, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Jamie Kennedy with Henry Winkler and Drew Barrymore. The stars were aligned when this horror classic was made and today after nearly 30 years we still are freaked out by the question, "What's your favorite scary movie?"
