Sneak peek at Super Centex POY, Live Oak's double title chances & more playoff hoops talk

Season 7, Ep. 8

Live Oak's hoops teams are both playing for TAPPS state titles Thursday. How cool would it be for the Falcons to pull off the boys-girls double?

We waited to record this podcast until after the boys bi-district and girls area rounds, so let's dig into what we saw: Who has impressed you? Any Centex basketball teams that deserve a shout-out, win or lose?

Mexia's Kelan Collins kept doing Kelan Collins things, putting up 28 points against Academy in the bi-district round. At this point, is he or Live Oak's Duncan Ogden the frontrunner for Super Centex Player of the Year, or are we overlooking someone else?

Now for the girls — It seems like a race between Live Oak's Audrey Pahmieyer, La Vega's Rih Kinsey and probably Fairfield's Blayke Brackens. Where are you leaning currently?

For all the parents of high school athletes and non-athletes out there who are graduating this spring: What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
