  • 114. #114 The Story You Tell Yourself Before You Lift

    08:11||Season 2, Ep. 114
    The biggest battle in training often happens before you even touch the bar.In this episode, we explore the psychology of the stories we tell ourselves before a session or a big lift from “I probably won’t get it” to “What’s the point unless I PB?” We unpack how these protective thoughts can influence confidence, effort, and performance, and why learning to commit to the lift…without needing to guarantee the outcome…is one of the most powerful skills you can build.Because confidence isn’t about knowing you’ll succeed. It’s about having the courage to try anyway :)

  • 112. #112 How to Set Realistic (yet powerful) Health Intentions for the Rest of 2026

    19:47||Season 2, Ep. 112
    I want you to ponder on the following questions FIRST, before setting some new intentions for the remainder of 2026:1) Using 3-5 words, how would you describe YOUR 2026 so far?2) Which of these words do you want to carry forward?3) What positive changes have you made so far to your health and wellbeing this year?4) did you set any intentions at the start of 2026? Which have you followed through with? Why? And which fell by the wayside? Why?Okay, so when we are setting an intention for the remainder of the year, we want to make it specific... Not "I want to go to the gym more"...It needs to be "I'm going to go to the gym at least 6 times a month"Not "I'm going to eat better"It needs to be "I'm going to cook at least 3 nutritious dinners from scratch each week"So, before setting the intentions, now ask yourself:1) How do I want to feel by the end of 2026? (use emotions, energies, physical sensations) 2) What daily/weekly activities need to be in my life to get me to feeling like that? (habits, exercise, self talk, rest, work, social)3) With this in mind, what are the 3 most important intentions I want to sustain over the next 4 months? 4) How confident am I on a scale of 1-10 that i can do this?IF YOUR ANSWER ISN'T 10.... I want you to go back to number 3 and adjust those intentions until you are a clear 10/10. And before you say but what if the world ends and everything goes to sh**... Don't think like that. Now, you should have your 3 intentions for the remainder of 2026. Put them as your phone screensaver. Write them on a note on your fridge. And most importantly, SCHEDULE THEM IN YOUR CALENDAR.

    07:47||Season 2, Ep. 108
