Axis artist in residence, Ola Majekodunmi was joined in the axis art studio by writer Gráinne Conroy and hair artist and owner of The Curly Look Saulo O’Deoraín.  The trio discussed the art of curly hair, the politics of black women's hair, hair as an act of self-care, the world of online hair influencers and more...  “Coming from the beauty industry, we are taught to make hair straight, hair has so so many textures... you may have tight curls, looser curls... it comes in so many ways and it's all about being at peace with your hair...” hair for me is everything, it’s something I cherish and celebrate... I feel so lucky to work with hair everyday... I did a thesis on the politics of black woman's hair when I was in college, I always said in that thesis - black woman's hair is an artform, different styles, different creativity... I didn't always love my hair...  'Until I was like 13 or 14 it wasn't a thing I loved, it was a bad thing...
