  • The Stacey West Championship Show | Blackburn Rising, Preston Struggling

    36:52|
The Stacey West Championship Show is back, and this week we're taking a closer look at two clubs experiencing very different fortunes in the Championship.First up, it's Blackburn Rovers, who have enjoyed an impressive rise up the table in recent weeks. We look at what's changed, what's driving their improved results, and whether the underlying statistics suggest their recent form is sustainable or if there are still reasons for concern. We then turn our attention to Preston North End and their difficult start under new manager Graham Alexander. After his successful spell at Bradford City, can Alexander replicate that approach in the Championship? We compare his tactical style at both clubs, look at Preston's biggest problems so far, and discuss what needs to change to get their season back on track. As ever, we dive into the numbers, looking beyond results and league positions to see what the statistics really tell us about both sides. If you enjoy the episode, please like, subscribe, and leave a comment with your thoughts on Blackburn's recent form and whether Graham Alexander is the right man to turn things around at Preston. This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Gary Hutchinson of the Stacey West Podcast. • 501 - Sheffield United Debrief, Darikwa Contract & Bramall Lane Moans

    01:04:45|
Gary and Emily take us past half a century with analysis from Sheffield United.Lincoln City's 3-0 defeat at Sheffield United gives Gary and Emily plenty to disagree about in episode 501 of the Stacey West Podcast. Emily wasn't impressed with what she saw at Bramall Lane, while Gary has arrived armed with enough stats to get another xG argument going. We discuss the missed chances, defensive mistakes, team selection and whether this could be the moment for some of our summer signings to get their opportunity. There's also the away day experience to pick over, from the flat atmosphere to crowded steps and chaotic food queues, although Gary's chicken pie and roast potatoes seem to have gone down rather better. Back at Sincil Bank, we discuss the temporary stand becoming a home supporters area and welcome the news of Tendayi Darikwa's new contract. We also reflect on our 500th episode interview with Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw, their partnership and the signed shirt Gary appears determined to keep. There's a quick word on West Ham, plus the usual diversions involving live music, a gold chain and a rather expensive piece of Lincoln City history. Were you more with Gary or Emily on the Sheffield United performance? Let us know in the comments, and subscribe for more Lincoln City discussion.#LincolnCity #StaceyWest #Podcast #SheffieldUnited #UpTheImpsUp the Imps
